Why Aren’t Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney Threatening To Bomb Dearborn Michigan?

This post is partially tongue in cheek (the bombing of Dearborn, Michigan part) to point out the absurdity of the policies of most all of the Republican candidates as well as the Obama administration wanting to bomb Iran, except for the following statements; the only true Peace candidate, Ron Paul, would rather choose to trade with Iran than sanction and bomb them. If you are Christian, and I know it’s been used before, then you must ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?”

This is the question to ask rather than, what would Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly or Rush Limbaugh do? Or, if you have been brought up to vote Democrat and watch MSNBC for your news, to ask those media pundits why there has been a complete absence of any of them holding Barack Obama accountable for his statement that the first thing he would do in office was to “get our troops out.”

The Republicans used to get us out of wars (see Vietnam and Korea), and now the Republicans and Democrats collectively want to bomb Iran while the Obama administration bombs the hell out of Pakistan. I guess once you win a Nobel Peace prize, you can do what you want in the name of peace; like 241 drone strikes since becoming President.

Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Bomb Dearborn Michigan!

The Republicans chose John McCain as their representative going into the 2008 election. John McCain of course knew nothing about economics, but he did speak the Fox News war party line of “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran.” You see, if you are a Muslim hating candidate, Fox News will give you air time. And if you can get Evangelicals to agree with your bombing candidate, then all the better.

So why don’t these candidates want to bomb Dearborn, Michigan where many Muslims live. I mean, there are some radical Muslims living in Dearborn, and there was an attack on a Christian group. And there is talk of implementation of Sharia Law in the community, and they do have the largest Mosque in North America. Is it too far fetched that some of these radicals from Dearborn would travel 24 miles away and take over the Fermi Nuclear Power plant? I mean, couldn’t Haliburton sell these Dearborn Radicals Nuclear technology like they did to Iran not too long ago?

And while we’re at it, why not drop some bombs on Detroit, the murder capital of the world for 37 years before troubles started South of the Border. Wouldn’t bombing Detroit eliminate some of them gangs? Why not bomb certain areas of Chicago and Los Angeles too? Wouldn’t some strategic Drone air strikes save lives in the long run? Isn’t it interesting that Iran has 1/20 the murder problem than that of the United States? Also note in that link that the nations with the lowest murder rate are those countries that don’t threaten other countries (Switzerland, Singapore, Norway) and countries that have learned their lessons regarding war (Japan and Germany).

Today’s Bombing Presidential Candidates

This brings us to today’s leading “bomb Iran” candidates who are fighting for delegates in the upcoming caucuses; mainly Rick Santorum, who has been gaining strength in the polls of late and Mitt Romney, who has stayed atop the polls from the beginning. Obama’s time for criticism, as outlined above, will come.

Let’s start with Rick Santorum’s views on Iran. Rick Santorum has said that “he would bomb Iran’s nuclear plants.” He goes on to say on Meet the Press this last Sunday, “We will degrade those facilities through air strikes, and make it very public that we are doing that.”

Some religious leaders think by electing Santorum, or Bachman, another war hawk, that we’ll get an economic boost. Yeah…sure…and the $700 billion Congress just passed in the defense bill comes from where exactly?

While Mitt Romeny is for sanctions against Iran, it is clear he wants to bomb Iran too. Otherwise there is no way he would get Fox News support.

Both of these potential leaders want to bomb Iran despite the November 18, 2011 IAEA report that only “expresses its continuing support for a diplomatic solution.” The report doesn’t say bomb Iran. Only American leaders and potential leaders do. Why don’t we talk to Iran? Why are we imposing sanctions under Obama and approved by Santorum and Romney?

Where in America have we gone wrong in that we don’t talk with our neighbors any longer? We bombed Iraq with no declaration of war. Congress will abdicate their duty again in allowing Obama or any Republican candidate sans Ron Paul who would become President to bomb Iran. The drone that was brought down in Iran alone is a declaration of war.

I can tell you one thing….Saudi Arabia, which houses the most radical Muslims of all, the Wahhabi’s, and where most of the 9/11 hijackers were from, including Osama bin Laden, will never be bombed by these war hawks. Yet guess who has announced plans late in 2011 to build 16 nuclear reactors?

There Is Only One Choice For President In America

If you want Peace in your lifetime, which polls show most Americans do, then there is only one candidate to vote for, and that is Ron Paul. It doesn’t hurt that his economic platform is sound and the liberties you have lost would be restored.

Make your vote count in 2012.

It’s time for your voice to be heard rather than that of whom the media wants you to vote for. They have their corporatist reasoning to convince you otherwise.
